Metz x Klappir Core Access

As Metz client, you now have your own Core access system in Klappir with direct access to your Metz data. Your data is updated monthly, giving you easy access to your merchandise purchase and CO₂e data from Metz whenever you need it.

Klappir X Metz

Metz has been using the Klappir platform to calculate CO₂e emissions related to customers’ merchandise purchases since 2024. Previously, Metz clients received annual CO₂e reports in Excel for the merchandise purchases through Metz.

Klappir makes your climate data more accessible and useful – not just as a number in a report, but as data you can follow, use and include directly in your own sustainability reporting.

Access more granular insights

In the Overview, it’s a good place to get a quick understanding of patterns in your data before drilling down further.

In the Analysis tab, you can review your data by month, entity, asset, and category to spot any gaps and identify where a deeper dive into granular data is needed.

In the Transactions tab, you will find a detailed overview of each product ordered. This tab contains the raw data similar to what you have previously received in our CO₂ reports. You can use the filters and columns at the top of the page to sort and analyze the data based on different criteria. The data can also be exported to Excel, by right-clicking the data, and choosing “Export”.

Under Transactions, you can also filter the transport type to analyse your data and understand which part of your Upstream Transportation and Distribution (Scope 3, Category 4) has the largest carbon footprint.

  • Supplier/factory → Metz = Inbound

  • Metz → customer = Outbound

Export your climate report in Reports:

Under Reports>Accounting you can export your Climate Report. Set and apply your accounting report settings (period, currency), export your climate report, and share it where you need to.

Your Klappir account covers your Scope 3 emissions from Metz – specifically purchased goods (Category 1) and transport (Category 4).

Note: Inside Klappir, both Inbound and Outbound transport are grouped under Category 4 by default. However, if you need a Category 1 reclassification for inbound transport to fit your reporting needs it is something to apply on your own reporting once the data is exported.

How to: Category 1 reclassification

If you export your data to build your own report outside Klappir, you can separate the transport data to match your own activity and reporting boundaries.

Transactions labeled Inbound transport refer to freight received by the supplier or sub-supplier from their own suppliers. In your reporting, this inbound transport data could be included under Purchased Goods and Services, Scope 3 Category 1.

Transactions labeled Outbound transport refer to freight from the Metz warehouse or Metz sub-supplier to you as the customer. From your perspective, this transport forms part of your upstream supply chain, so it should be reported under Scope 3, Category 4 – Upstream Transportation and Distribution.
